Community Engagement

The Department of Psychiatry’s REACH Community Partner initiative aims to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in research by building partnerships with community members and organizations to inform research collaborations.

Community health research seeks to understand health and morbidity within communities and actively engages community members in the design and implementation of research projects.  These collaborative relationships help improve patient and family outcomes, reduce health inequities for diverse populations, and further the scientific inquiry of psychiatric illness and treatment for all people.

The Community PARTners Core supports nearly 200 community and organizational relationships that build upon community strengths and foster promotion of health and mental health.
