Karen Jakubowski, PhD is a clinical-health psychologist and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research is focused on understanding modifiable risk factors linking gender-based violence and cardiovascular disease, with the ultimate goal of improving women’s cardiovascular health and sleep across the lifespan. Dr. Jakubowski is a licensed psychologist with a broad interest in the relationship between mental health and physical health, and a particular interest in treating issues related to women’s health, sleep problems, and chronic pain. Dr. Jakubowski is invested in research mentorship and training of undergraduate and medical students, as well as providing clinical supervision to clinical psychology interns. Dr. Jakubowski maintains active community partnerships with local and regional agencies focused on intimate partner violence and women’s health, including Women’s Center & Shelter (WC&S) of Greater Pittsburgh.
